
ABOUT US
Dr. Leah Sledge, founder of Move That Mountain, felt a call upon her life after 24 years in the classroom to step out of the educational box and launch into assisting students in needed areas that went beyond classroom standards and objectives. As a college preparatory teacher, Dr. Sledge saw first-hand the needs that students had regarding transition to post-secondary education, the military, and the work force. Willing to meet that need in a remote location outside of a military base in Japan, Dr. Sledge moved forth with her vision of empowering students and Move That Mountain was born.

Dr. Sledge received her College Admissions Specialist and the Career Development Specialist endorsements from the American School Counselor Association. She is also a Global Career Development Facilitator as credentialed by the Council for Credentialing Education where she completed over 120 hours of specialized career counseling work.
Dr. Sledge is married to Superintendent Patrick Sledge who is the Pastor of Misawa Church of God in Christ in Misawa, Japan and they are the parents of three adult children: Xala, D’Yanna, and Patrick Jr.

D'Yanna C. Sledge
D'Yanna C. Sledge is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) with a Bachelors of Arts in English Writing Studies and a focus of Criminology. She has fond memories of her college participation while maintaining above a 3.4 GPA. She is the Scholarship Queen for the 2016-2017 Ms. Krimson and Kreme Pageant sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and she is the co-founder and former manager for the Northern Stars Dance Team.
Growing up overseas in a military environment, D’Yanna is very acquainted with the struggles of having limited resources and knowledge of college. Having just left the post-secondary school environment, she understands the many struggles of higher education including finding direction after the degree. During her free time, D’Yanna can be found writing or curled up on the couch with a book in her hand.
